Fraternity Elects Servant-Leaders

Joanne Lockwood, OFS, of Barneveld was elected minister of St. Joseph Fraternity on Sunday, Sept. 16.

She and other members of the newly elected council will serve a three-year term.

Joanne was previously assistant formation director and also serves as secretary for the St. Kateri Tekakwitha Regional Fraternity.


Also elected were:

  • Vice Minister Mary Stronach, OFS, of Marcy. She was previously formation director. Mary also serves as regional formation director, public relations co-chair for the national fraternity, and interpreter-translator for the international fraternity.

  • Secretary Marsha Kistner, OFS, of Clinton. This is her second term in that position.

  • Treasurer Rick Roberts, OFS, of Whitesboro. This is his second term as treasurer.

  • Formation Director Katie Koscinski, OFS, of Utica who previously served two terms as minister. She also is a regional councilor.

Completing the fraternity council is Fr. Henry Madigan, OFM Conv., of Rensselaer who continues to serve as spiritual assistant.

Regional Minister Mary Frances Charsky, OFS, presided over the elections, with lay Regional Spiritual Assistant Bill Geary, OFS, serving as the pastoral witness.
